Recognition for eMahinda Platform’s Innovation and Impact

We are proud to announce that the eMahinda Alumni Platform has been recognized by Vaave, the official technology provider behind our platform, for its outstanding innovation in alumni engagement and fundraising.

In a featured article published by Vaave, Mahinda College, Sri Lanka, was highlighted for its strategic use of exclusive merchandise sales and alumni events to foster strong connections with its Old Boys while raising vital funds for ongoing initiatives.

The Mahinda College Old Boys’ Association (MCOBA) has long been dedicated to nurturing a vibrant alumni network. Recognizing the importance of meaningful engagement, MCOBA introduced a series of initiatives, including the sale of branded t-shirts and digital e-badges to encourage alumni involvement and pride.

However, turning this vision into a reality came with challenges. The association required a streamlined and centralized platform to manage merchandise sales, collect payments, and organize events effectively.

A dedicated merchandise page was integrated into the eMahinda alumni portal to sell several merchandise. With a user-friendly design and an embedded payment gateway, alumni were able to browse and purchase memorabilia with ease. This page was added to the main navigation bar, making it highly accessible to all members.

The administrative backend empowered the association to manage transactions, inventory, and event logistics in one place removing previous bottlenecks and enabling fast, scalable operations.

The campaign raised significant funds and demonstrated the enduring loyalty of Mahindian alumni. Event management was also revolutionized from cricket tournaments to musical nights, all activities were handled through the platform, improving coordination and participation during the Season of the Golds.

This recognition is a testament to MCOBA’s unwavering commitment to the Mahindian community. It also proves that meaningful alumni engagement doesn’t require large budgets just vision, intent, and the right platform.

We thank Vaave for their continued partnership and look forward to achieving greater milestones through eMahinda, the digital home for all Mahindians.
